Event is FINISHED
Two young travellers, a cook and a writer, decided they needed a little more adventure in their lives and began a roundtrip from Italy to Singapore, primarily by land, with nothing but their own savings. They've been going strong for over 25,000km, 16 months (the last six of which in a customised tuk-tuk), and just as many countries, trading food for stories.
Banquet of Stories: A pairing of film and food
On this evening, they'll present you with special recipes picked up from their travels, and the stories that inspired them. It will be an immersive feast for the senses as they transport you across time and space.
Your support will help them return to the West and share with the world what they've found, publishing a book of stories and recipes, producing a feature documentary about how they found them, and opening a kitchen studio so people can taste the experience for themselves.

Kalymnos Salad: Tomatoes, cucumber, feta cheese, soaked bread, olives, and mint. Another version of the classical Greek salad, revisited in different consistencies.
Recipe inspired by: Simon, the first climbing teacher of Kalymnos, the rock-climbing Mecca in the centre of the Aegean sea.

Pork Tacos: Slow cooked pork shoulder, spinach and ginger sauce, pickled red cabbage, and steamed bread
Recipe inspired by: The Master of Thunder, an old Chinese professor who teaches the power of electricity to young talented minds in a very peculiar public school in Shanghai.

Fresh from the Rock: Sol fillet, black lentils, and mango, lime and chilli seasoning
Recipe inspired by: Viet the chicken farmer of Binh Hun, a remote island in the south of Vietnam which is forbidden to tourists.
Influences: Vietnam, Spain
Red Velvet Cake: Beetroot cake, coconut glaze, pumpkin mostarda, salty chocolate. A delicious vegan treat.
Recipe inspired by: Tara, our yogi friend. Together we launched a pop-up restaurant, La Bohemienne et Les Amis in Shillong, Northeast India, for a month, with a very diverse menu. This cake was surely among the best.
